The Story

Shifeng (Lion's Peak) Dragonwell is the Hangzhou paragon, revered as much for its tradition as its flavor. Seed propagated on the misty slopes of Lion's Peak (Shifeng) near Hangzhou, 'Qunti' bushes are heirloom, each a singular representation of texture and character. Compared to its competitor, the ubiquitous clone, 'Longjing #43', Qunti matures later, yields less, and is more labor intensive but rewards with superior depth and traditional character. Because of climate change, many producers in the region are switching to the deeper rooting 'Qunti' for its drought resistance, while collectors prize 'Qunti' Dragonwell for its singular and nuanced fingerprint--unique each time.
